Can You Feel The Love Tonight? The Lion King Jr. comes to Pershing Middle School (Houston, March 2016) - The Pershing Middle School Choir Department will present Disney's The Lion King Jr., April 15 & 16, in the Pershing Performing Arts Center. Recognized as one of the top performing and visual arts magnet schools in Houston, the production promises to be a spectacular event filled with incredible puppets and stunning imagery, alongside your favorite songs from the Disney animated feature. A story of coming of age, from a tiny cub to a full-grown lion, Simba enocunters his fair share of trials and tribulations, while creating lifelong relationships along the way. Watch the story of Simba's journey (Tajh Mason) as he follows in his father, Mufasa's (Dawit Tewelde), footsteps and learns what it means to be a great king. Joined by his friends Rafiki (Lily Falconer), Nala (Elisabeth Barrett), Timon (Scout Sustala) and Pumbaa (Andrea Flores), Simba battles his Uncle Scar (Daniel Russel) and his pack of wacky hyenas (Shenzi-Debra Lacey, Banzai-Cayla Miller, Ed-Da'veon Ford) for his rightful position as king of the pridelands. The cast is rounded out by Reagan Kimzey (Sarabi), Reagan Jones (Zazu) and the students of the Pershing Choir Department as the many singing, dancing, animals of the African savannah.
