Following the success of her 2011 release "Mysterious Feminine';winner of the coveted San Diego Music Award for Best Jazz Album, Steph Johnson has spent the past 2 years develop­ing her sound, composing and performing. Most recently she recorded her new CD "Nature Girl" which is getting extensive airplay in Southern California, the East Coast as well as Mexico and Europe. This newly released effort saw Johnson switching gears from the R&B/Funk sound of her previous albums to a brand new Soul-Jazz trio featuring herself on vocals and guitar, accomplished upright bassist, Rob Thorsen and drummer extraordinaire, Fernando Gomez.

Vocalist and guitarist Steph Johnson continues to push the boundaries of her unique style of playing and songwriting through this new musical configuration. The musicianship and empathy between the three players allows the listener to experience a majestic and pleasurable journey that is both soothing and enlightening. Upcoming performances this summer include UCSD's "The Loft'; the Tijuana Jazz & Blues Festival, the KSDS 88.3FM Jazz Live Series, and nightly performances throughout Southern California.
