No Evil is the cabaret creation of Jerry Phelps (Mama's Next Big Act, Runner Up), Elliot Roth (Brandy's Piano Bar) and Karen Thompson. In an attempt to respond to the unashamed hate, bigotry and ignorance fully unleashed in November 2016, these three musicians will use their love of soul, folk, a well-placed Broadway tune, and the Judds to let music speak where words cannot. Starting with the realization that American music has always been connected to the resilience and resistance of people of color, LGBT and Jewish folks in the cultural fabric of America, this trio is using music to witness and to let the light come in. No Evil is an unblinking look at the brokenness that leads to oppression and also a deep a celebration of survival, resistance and joy.
