Singer Mike Schuil and pianist Wells Hanley have had a long and fruitful relationship resulting in a number of well-received cabaret shows and two CDs Summer Wind (inspired by the classic Sinatra/Jobim recordings) and the soon-to-be released Time in a Bottle (celebrating the works of 60's singer-songwriters). This time around, with their return to The Duplex, they are performing without a band for the first time. The show is a scintillating conversation between two musicians exploring classics from the Great American Songbook and a few surprises. Rodgers & Hart, Johnny Mercer, Henry Mancini, Michel Legrand, Paul Simon and Brian Wilson are among the composers and lyricists featured. This iconic cabaret space is the perfect backdrop for this personal exploration of the stories these classic songs have to tell. Directed by Gerry Geddes.
