Director Donnie Cianciotto (Sam in "Southern Comfort" at The Public Theater) says, "As more film & theater companies produce work with trans* and gender non-conforming characters, it's more important than ever to have those roles cast authentically. Too often we hear casting directors say that they just couldn't find any trans talent and Trans* Voices Cabaret is our chance to stand up and say, well, here we are!"
