Susan Lamb Cook Description
Acclaimed throughout Europe, the Far East and the United States, master cellist and educator Susan Lamb Cook concludes her Mary Wright Visiting Artist residency at Austin College by joining faculty members Ricky Duhaime (clarinet) and John McGinn (piano) in a recital of Classical and Romantic German masterworks. The evening begins with the highly evocative Kol Nidrei, op. 47 for cello solo by Max Bruch. This is followed by Mozart’s exquisite “Kegelstatt” Trio, K. 498 (arranged for cello rather than viola). Brahms’ soulful Cello Sonata in E minor, op. 38, and Beethoven’s youthful Trio in B-flat Major, op. 11 conclude this magical evening! |
