TKO Entertainment, Inc. and WAHAHA-Hompo proudly announce Toshi Cappuccino's solo musical Super Late Bloomer / Taiki Cho Bansei based on his 2015 autobiographical stand up show The Grasshopper Wins. Toshi's life story as a comic reversal of Aesop's fable of the Grasshopper and the Ant, that show was a hit with audiences, inspiring requests for a musical version. Combining newly-written songs, favorite originals and some covers, this new show tells the story of Toshi's life as a gay boy growing up in southern Japan, his early career as a nightclub entertainer, later adventures adapting to life in bizarre new countries and final triumph as a "Super Late Bloomer" in the garden of New York City.
Toshi Cappuccino has appeared at the Duplex 40 times since March 2013. His performances there have consistently sold out. This new musical is an ambitious departure for him. The Show would be performed in Japanese.
Super Late Bloomer is written, produced, directed and performed by Toshi Cappuccino. A native of Hakata, he is an entertainer, critic, producer, TV personality, and a voter for the New York Drama Desk Awards. Toshi is also member of WAHAHA-Hompo, one of Japan’s biggest comedy troupes.
