Ceramics is a course designed to introduce students to clay, which is a natural material formed by minerals from the Earth.  This course allows students to explore and manipulate the clay with three different types of hand building, learn how to use tools and equipment, glaze and decoration methods, and the kiln firing process. Students will also learn the importance of how aesthetics, craftsmanship, and function work together in order to create handmade pottery and sculpture.
