In this workshop, students will learn the basics of spinning using a drop spindle. We will use the park and draft method to get familiar with the motions of spinning and then progress on to using the spindle suspended. Students will also learn to card wool and the different preparations available to handspinners. Students will learn to ply on the spindle and how to finish their yarn. Spinning terminology will be learned along the way. All work in this workshop will be using medium-grade wool. Students will also be introduced to the different types of spinning wheels and the basic mechanics of how they work. Supplies included. Age 16+. Minors permitted with parent or guardian. Both minor and adult must purchase tickets for and attend workshop. Additional Information
