Headlining this dance session is Skatebård, a bearded cosmonaut who traverses the outer realms of italo-disco, electro, new wave, and house and will beam us down into sultry dimensions of sound. Don’t miss a rare San Diego appearance of a “prolific, eclectic and cerebral Norwegian,” that Stamp The Wax said brings “the varied sub-genres of dance to life in his own enigmatic style.” Praised by The Ransom Note as a creator of a distinct style “from a country which wasn’t previously known for its reputation in the world of electronic music,” the Dekmantel mainstay (who closed last year’s festival and is booked again for 2019) is sure to charm your pants off with his winning smile and throbbing beat. Skatebård: “For me, Italo disco is a genre with a lot of musicality, emotion, melodies and interesting rhythms, plus a lot of synthesizer and drum machine sounds to the maximum. It’s very synthetic, but it’s still very human.” Get ready for to kiss both sets of lips, at a night of music that will get you moving from the waist down.
