Montford Park Players Description
Montford Park Players, an Asheville theatrical tradition, is
proud to announce their upcoming production of Henry IV, Part 1. All performances will be held at the Hazel
Robinson Amphitheatre at 92 Gay Street in the heart of Asheville’s
historic Montford District, from May 3 through May 25
on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7:30pm. This performance
like ALL of Montford Park Players’ shows will be absolutely FREE to
attend. This is one of Shakespeare’s most entertaining and witty works. In telling the story of the future King Henry V(Prince Hal), Shakespeare creates three worlds- the Tavern, filled with witty banter and bawdy antics; a Court plagued with intrigue, led by a King stained with the death of his predecessor; and a Rebellion led by the passionate, but flawed hero, a “Mars in swaddling clothes.” Montford Park Players has been presenting Shakespeare and other
classical works to the Asheville community since 1973, and has since
grown to be one of Western North Carolina’s most beloved and
well-known cultural attractions. Additional Information
Free parking - the second production of our 2019 outdoor season! Additional parking at Asheville Chamber of Commerce, 36 Montford Avenue. Please arrive early for best seating.
