Description
September should be renamed, “Judy-Palooza”! With a new major motion picture opening at the end of the month and a top notch Broadway Bound musical about Judy Garland’s early years opening at Paper Mill Play House. Including a new Showtime documentary about Judy and her third husband, Sid Luft. It seems that we are all “clanging” our trolley bell! So, starting on September 21st, please, join us as we take you down the yellow brick road of the life of the one and only, Judy Garland with: “Judy: Behind The Rainbow”. Far from a tragedy and so much more than just a blue gingham dress and red sequin shoes. Judy Garland was the epitome of show business and all too human. Set in 1969, “Judy: Behind The Rainbow” finds Miss Garland determined to take another crack at writing her memoirs and set the record of her life straight. From her madcap days in vaudeville. To her illustrious stardom at MGM during Hollywood’s golden age. To her triumphant concert comebacks in the fifties and sixties. To her tumultuous CBS television series and through to her untimely passing in June of 1969. This cabaret musical/performance art piece is carefully crafted through Judy Garland’s own words and through the words and memories of those who knew and loved her best. Told With empathy, style, and above all else, that trademark Garland razor sharp humor and wit. All sung & spoken live by award-winning & critically-acclaimed Tribute Artist Peter Mac. You will leave knowing that Judy Garland was and is a timeless talent with a universal appeal for which there will never be an “end of the rainbow”. The evening features over a dozen Garland hits. Including “The Trolley Song”, “The Man That Got Away” and of course, “Over The Rainbow”. Opening on Saturday September 21 at 8 PM and running through October 26. With additional select dates TBA. At The Producers Club At 358 West 44th Street in Manhattan. Additional Information
