Each contestants may only enter one costume into the competition and may only enter into one category, Individual or Group. Due to the unpredictable size of groups, an individual prize will be awarded. 2. No overt nudity this is an all age event and there will be children present. No nudity, profanity allowed. This includes images and messages on signs or clothes. Anyone who violates this may be disqualified from the competition. 3. No political or religious statement during the catwalk. Anyone who violates this may be disqualified from the competition. 4. No flash pots, explosive devices, or similar special effects are to be used. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area. 5. All prop weapons must conform to the Cos-Losseum Weapons Policy (Listed below), which is as follows: All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. No functioning projectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area. We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can keep allowing peace-bonded weapons. 6. All applications must be submitted at the time of pre-judging, Saturday at 1pm to the judges table, and applications will be available at that time. 7. All judging will be done by a combination of your judges (TBA) and your fellow Cosplayers. 8. Large elaborate costumes must be self-contained and handled by the contestant and/or assistants the contestant brings to help. Cos-Losseum staff will not be able to guarantee assistants. 9. All costume weapons must be inspected before entering the building. Approved costume weapons will be tagged. All costume weapons must conform to state and federal law. Your approved weapon may be revoked at any time if you are handling it in a way that is deemed threatening by other attendees. WEAPONS POLICY: Absolutely NO functional weapons are allowed at Cos-Losseum.The following are forbidden: -Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, swords, etc) - Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks) - Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray) - Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs and nunchaku) - Hard prop weapons, unless attached to your costume in a way they may not be drawn - Instruments that cause excessive noise levels like vuvuzelas, grenade whistles and grenade horns - Whips (unless attached to your costume in a way it may not be used) - Projectile weapons must be rendered inoperable. Realistic replica firearms, that can easily be confused as real firearms, must have the tip painted red. Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of cardboard, foam, wood or other light materials. Weapons made of hard materials, such as glass, fiberglass, or metal, must be attached to your costume in a way that they many not be drawn. If you do not want to have your costume weapons inspected or tagged, please do not bring them.
