Gloria Bangiola is a singer, actor, writer, and teacher. She was inspired to create “Children or Art?” when both her teaching and performance careers were stopped short by COVID. Unable to see her students in person or perform at all, Gloria began collecting children’s songs, struck by how many of them explored profound themes relevant to people of all ages. The show draws from her teaching and performance career, which began with several music education posts in Bronx public schools and now finds her the artistic director of The Washington Heights Choir School as well as teaching private acting and voice lessons to students of all ages. Gloria has starred in several short films and most recently made her feature film debut in the horror/cringe comedy Glue Trap. She's also acted in many stage shows, playing Portia and the Soothsayer in Julius Caesar, President Wintergreen in Brooklyn Baby, and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, among many others. She has released two albums of original music, Past the Willow and the Well and Fool’s Gold, both available on Spotify and iTunes. Gloria is excited to bring all of the various facets of her life together for her debut cabaret show!
