Each month the cast of the JULIANA PROJECT performs a number of chapters from the novel, JULIANA, in a way that is similar to a mini-series. In each “episode” the story is brought to life as the actors recreate scenes from 1940s New York. Often these scenes occur in places familiar to modern day audiences, such as Times Square, MacDougal Street and Café Reggio. The “episodes” contain live musical performances, comedy, sex and drama, performed in clothing suggestive of the time period. The audience becomes engulfed in this bygone era and soon finds itself in the midst of a gripping story of gay men and women living through a tumultuous time of fear, triumph, secrecy, love and excitement.
Don’t worry if you haven’t seen it from the beginning. You can enter the story at any point. We’ll catch you up. If you have the inclination—Come dressed for the time period, not mandatory, but fun.
