Texas Medical Center Orchestra Description
The prize-winning Texas Medical Center Orchestra returns with a spectacular line up filled with romantic music for Miller’s 100th season.
The concert will open with “Bolero,” an all-time favorite and one of composer Maurice Ravel’s most famous compositions. Accompanying the orchestra will be members of the Mitsi Dancing school with a beautiful and inspiring dance interpretation. The orchestra will then perform 3 movements from Sergei Rachmaninoff ‘s “Symphony No. 2.” Composed just over 100 years ago, this piece is one of the most beloved and important works from the romantic literature, offering the audience a chance to enjoy the sound of a full Symphony Orchestra in performance. TMCO is known as one of the finest community orchestras in the nation, winning the American Prize for best community orchestra. Established in 2000, the Texas Medical Center Orchestra (TMCO) is one of the very few orchestras with its origin in the health professions. Most of the members are health professionals who have a dedication to music that goes beyond their daily occupations. Items Not Allowed
