Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is about an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents who are vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime, has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.

FNT's “SPELLING BEE” is presented under the direction of Artistic Director Colin Healy, starring Fly North friends: Jordan Wolk (Assassins, Caroline Or Change), Sarah Lantsberger (Assassins), Brian McKinley (Dir. Caroline, Or Change),  and an ensemble of FNT students!

Presented as a pay-what-you-want fundraiser for FNT's Theatre For All Initiative. The TFAI aims make the art form more accessible actors and audiences alike by providing shows like this free to the community as well as offering our students a chance to share a stage with local professionals without ever having to pay "performance fees".
