Description
Benedictine College Department of Theatre and Dance presents: PERICLES by William Shakespeare Pericles, the Prince of Tyre leaves home to escape death only to win a jousting contest and marry a princess. Once he can return home, his family sails with him, but a storm separates them, so Pericles returns alone. Years later, Pericles finds his daughter and reunites with the wife he had thought was dead. In this swashbuckling tragi-comedy, the Bard himself show us the unpredictable and often dangerous journey through life, and the ways in which appearances can deceive even the wisest of heroes. PERICLES has everything you could want in a play…shipwrecks, touching family reunions, songs, pirates, evil foster mothers, brothels, goddesses, jousts, and so much more…some have even argued too much more for one play. It’s funny, it’s tragic, it’s heartwarming, it’s all the best parts in Shakespeare in just one play! |
