Read or Die, written by Robert Schmidt and directed by Justin Schmidt, tells the story of Claude, who has been wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death. As Claude fights for more time, the Prison Warden and a Guard begin to suspect that their inmate is innocent. Their values are tested and they join the fight against the system of justice that they both swore to uphold.
Read or Die is a love letter to literature and to the everlasting life that it allows an author to experience when an audience reads, listens to, or watches their work. 

The script for Read or Die was finished just days before the unexpected death of Robert Schmidt.
