Description
Blood Lemon Blood Lemon received plenty of praise for their debut LP - NPR Music, A.V. Club, SPIN, and other outlets lauded their debut that garnered comparisons to other beloved female-fronted influences like Sleater-Kinney and The Breeders, while giving praise to the band’s simultaneous homage to stoner rock bands like Earth and Sleep. Blood Lemon is back with their EP "Petite Deaths", a release with widened emotional registers. While bassist Melanie Radford was on break from serving as the bassist for indie stalwarts Built To Spill, Blood Lemon collaborated with acclaimed fuzz lord Dave Catching (Desert Sessions, Queens of the Stone Age, earthlings?) at the legendary Rancho De La Luna studio. The group approached the sessions as a getaway, rather than a typical recording session and to fully embrace the break, they lodged in a neighboring bungalow on the premises, taking advantage of the chance to temporarily escape from the distractions of our daily life. The desert often represents scarcity, a place where few signs of life can be found. For the women in Blood Lemon, however, trading their homebase in the high desert of Boise, Idaho for the low desert in Joshua Tree, California would prove to be the right choice to give the five songs found on Petite Deaths their final form. Blood Lemon is passionate and loud, melodic and heavy, delicate and aggressive. Listen to ‘Petite Deaths’ out January 17th, 2025 and catch them on tour. https://bloodlemon.bandcamp.com/album/blood-lemon The Prids https://theprids.bandcamp.com/ |
