Cedar Street Theatre is proud to present a fresh perspective of William Shakespeare’s classic tale of ROMEO & JULIET. This modern retelling of star-crossed lovers will bring this timeless story into our current society, while truly questioning what it means to be a dignified household. Is it money, or is it compassion? This production will take on that question and highlight the differences between the Montagues and the Capulets. One connected and warm, the other distant and cold, thus creating tension and conflict between the two houses. And that’s only the beginning. Add a rowdy bunch of teenagers and throw in some lavish parties, exciting fight scenes, beautiful language, and intense emotions, and this production is sure to be a memorable one! ROMEO & JULIET will be performed in its original language, with some minor edits for run time. The creative team wanted to remain true to the original text as much as possible while breathing new life into these characters. This showcases just how timeless this story is. Items Not Allowed
