At 20 years old, Jon Bishop was introduced to the Southern California underground rave scene and by 1990 he was spinning techno and house at local clubs and warehouse parties, later launching his own radio show, Sounds of the Underground. In 1992, he founded his own San Diego nightspot, Club Hedonism, DJing there each Thursday evening throughout the decade to follow; additionally, Bishop tenured each month as the foreign resident at the noted Birmingham, England club Sundissential. In 1999, he headlined the introductory volume in the new ICU Clubnights mix release series.

He continued his manic devotion to new music in the 90s as Music Director at MARS-FM, then as founder of GROOVE RADIO, dedicated to club and DJ culture with artists such as MOBY, FATBOY SLIM, and THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS. Today, Swedish Egil is soaring ever higher on GROOVERADIO.COM and as DJ/Artist spinning at top clubs and events, and remixing records for Paul Oakenfold's PERFECTO label. You can also catch Egil's distinctive radio voice nationwide on Sirius XM Radio and as co-host of weekly mixshow "Powertools" (Power 106FM Los Angeles).
